Free public transport options are available for City-Bay participants to and from the City
To take advantage of the free public transport options available for City-Bay participants to and from the City – participants just need to show their race number bib when getting on the tram or special Event shuttle buses. Please note that free travel is not available on regular bus services and trains.
Please do not leave it to the last minute to get to your start line. All free pre-race day transport from Glenelg to the City terminates at 8:00am.
Trams will commence operation from Stop 15 (Brighton Road) for the start every 6 minutes from 6:38am until 2:10pm. Trams from Moseley Square will depart every 7-8 minutes from 2:00-3:00pm.
If leaving Glenelg after 7:00am please catch the bus provided at the tram stop (Maxwell Terrace) as this will take you closer to the start area, adjacent to the Railway Station on North Terrace.
Trams will terminate at Rundle Mall at 06:38am and South Terrace between 07:18am and 10:09am. (A shuttle service will run between South Tce and Government House North Tce).

The first shuttle buses will leave at 5.30am from Wigley Reserve and Maxwell Tce arriving at Adelaide Railway Station via the 3km and 6km starts. The first shuttle bus will leave from the city at approximately 7.00am. Buses will continue until 7.45am for the 6km Start (Kurralta Park). Buses will continue until 8:00am for the 3km and 12km starts.
Buses from Torrens Parade Ground and Adelaide Railway Station will return to Glenelg from 7:00am for family and friends.
Shuttle Buses to the City after event:
Buses will depart from Wigley Reserve and Maxwell Tce from approx. 9.30am to the Adelaide City via the 3km and 6km starts until approx. 1:00pm.
Note: Access to the 6km start is best on tram until 10.15am as the bus can only drop you at the corner of Marion Rd and Mooringe Ave.
