Free public transport options are available for City-Bay participants to and from the City

To take advantage of the free public transport options available for City-Bay participants to and from the City – participants just need to show their race number bib when getting on the tram or special Event shuttle buses. Please note that free travel is not available on regular bus services and trains.

Please do not leave it to the last minute to get to your start line. All free pre-race day transport from Glenelg to the City terminates at 8:00am.

 

Metro Trams

 

Pre-race trams will commence operation from Stop 15 (Brighton Road) for the start every approx.. 7-10 minutes from 5:23am until 7:30am and post-race services will depart at a high frequency until approximately 1pm.  Trams from Moseley Square will depart every 10 minutes from approximately 2:00pm

If leaving Glenelg after 7:00am please catch the bus provided at the tram stop (Maxwell Terrace) as this will take you closer to the start area, adjacent to the Railway Station on North Terrace.

Trams will terminate from Adelaide Railway Station 7:19am from Rundle Mall at 7:33am and South Terrace between 07:26am to 11:00am. (A shuttle service will run between South Tce and Kintore Avenue, adjacent the State Library).

 

Shuttle Buses to the City prior to event:

 

Half Marathon Bus shuttle from the City

Departs: Stop W1, North Terrace at 5:15am

Arrives:  Wigley Reserve 5:45am

 

Pre-race Wigley Reserve to City to Wigley Reserve Bus Shuttle

Departs: Temp Stop Wigley Reserve

Pre-event: Shuttles operate between 5:30am – 8:00am, departing as required for participants to and from the City.  First shuttle departs at 5:30am.

Pre-event timetabled departures from Wigley Reserve: 6:00am, 6:15am, 6:30am and 8:00am

Drop off location 3KM: Stop 15 or Stop 16 Anzac Highway

Drop off location 6KM: Temp Stop Mortimer Street or Temp stop Mooringe Avenue

Drop off location 12KM: As close as possible to Stop D, North Terrace

 

Post-race Wigley Reserve to City

Departs: Temp Stop Wigley Reserve

Post-event: Shuttles operate between 9am – 1pm departing as required for participants to the City

Drop off location 3KM: Stop 15 or Stop 16 Anzac Highway

Drop off location 6KM: Temp Stop Mortimer Street or Temp stop Mooringe Avenue

Drop off location 12KM: As close as possible to Stop D, North Terrace

 

Maxwell Terrace to North Terrace City bus shuttle

Departs: Temp Stop Maxwell Terrace

Drop off location: As close as possible to Stop D, North Terrace

Pre-event: Shuttles operate between 6:00am – 8:00am, departing as required for participants to and from the City.

 

South Terrace/Peacock Road to North Terrace Bus Shuttle

Departs: Temp Stop Peacock Road

Drop off location: Temp Stop Kintore Avenue, adjacent the State Library

Pre-event: Shuttles operate between 7:30am – 11:00am o until the South Terrace Road closure is lifted.

 

Tram services

Pre-event services will operate between approx. 7-10 minutes frequency with the first service departing Stop 15. Brighton Road at 5:23am.

Post-event services will depart at a high frequency between 10am until approx.. 1pm.

 

Tram services operate from Stop 15, Brighton Road

  • to Entertainment Centre between 5:23am to approx.. 730am.
  • To South Terrace between approx.. 7:30am – approx.. 11am.

 

No services will operate to Festival Plaza until after approx.. 11am

No services will operate to Botanic Gardens until after approx.. 11am

 

Tram services will operate between Adelaide Railway Station to Entertainment Centre from approx. 730am – approx.. 11am

First tram resumes operating from Moseley Square from 2:20pm
