Looking for a challenge without taking on the full distance? The 6km is the perfect way to experience the excitement of City-Bay.
Whether you’re racing for a personal best, running alongside friends and family or simply enjoying the atmosphere, the 6km welcomes participants of all abilities. Run, jog, walk or wheel your way to the finish and soak up the energy, community and excitement that makes City-Bay so special.

Children Entry Requirements:
- To qualify for a child’s entry fee, participants must be under 17 years of age on race day.
- Children aged 3 and under may participate in a pram without a race number, provided they remain in the pram.
Start / Finish times
Start
Please be ready by 8:30am for a 9:00am start. Your course will take you from Kurralta Central Shopping Centre to Morphett Road where you will then cross over to the Southern Carriageway. Participants are encouraged to position themselves according to their expected pace, with competitive runners invited to start at the front followed by the general field.
Please be ready by 9:00am for a 9:30am start. Your course will take you from Kurralta Central Shopping Centre to Morphett Road where you will then cross over to the Southern Carriageway. Participants are encouraged to position themselves according to their expected pace, with competitive walkers at the front and those walking at a more leisurely pace or with prams towards the rear to help ensure a smooth flow for everyone.
Finish
The event finish line is on Colley Terrace. As you head towards Glenelg, you will be directed by police and race marshals to head to Jetty Rd, either via Brighton Road or Gordon Street. When travelling along Jetty Road please be aware of the tram lines and take care turning the corner from Jetty Road onto Colley Terrace.
- Please do not stop after crossing the finish line. Keep moving through the finish area towards the Event Village located on Colley & Wigley Reserve to help keep the finish line clear for other participants.
Course Rules
Course Rules for the 6KM
- Participants in the 6km Run Event may walk at any point, while participants in the 6km Walk event must walk for the duration and are not permitted to run.
- Bibs must be worn on the front of the participants body and must not be folded, cut, altered, damaged or covered by clothing, as this may affect timing results.
- Bikes, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards and other vehicles are not permitted on the course.
- Headphones and earbuds are permitted; however, participants must remain aware of their surroundings and able to hear instructions from event officials, emergency personnel and other participants. Noise-cancelling headphones are not recommended.
- Running with a pram/stroller is not permitted due to increasing participant numbers and insurance requirements. Walking with a pram is allowed in line with risk management guidelines.
- Animals and pets are not permitted on the course, unless they are an authorised service animal assisting a participant.
- Please do not stop after you cross the finish line – keep moving down toward Colley & Wigley Reserve.
- If walking with a group, please avoid occupying the entire width of the road where it obstructs runners and other articipants to move past you.
- Participants should avoid sudden stopping and should move to the side before stopping.
- Wheelchair participants should keep to the left-hand side of the course where practicable.
- No offensive signs; racist language; abusive language; discriminatory messaging; political signage where restricted; obscene gestures; threatening behaviour; hate speech is permitted on course. Course marshals and event officials have the right to remove a participant from the course where they believe the participant is breaching these rules or creating a safety risk.
